Update May 2017

A May 2017 Microsft security update for Windows 10 conflicted with a major routine in FileBoss resulting in FileBoss not starting on some Windows 10 systems.

What happened

During May 2017 Microsoft released security updates which created conflicts with FileBoss to the point where FileBoss would not start on many of the updated systems.

The updated version of FileBoss, Version 3.101, is now the standard download and is available at:

FileBoss Version 2.x users

Unfortunately the most recent versions of Windows are no longer compatible with FileBoss V2.x and earlier, which were released nearly nine years ago in the days of Windows XP and Windows Vista. If you are still using a Version 2.x of FileBoss and it will no longer start please contact us at .

Keep Windows Updated

Despite the trouble it may cause we strongly encourage all our customers (and eveyone else too) to keep their Windows updated. These updates are often imporatnt security patches that will prevent all kinds of nasty things happening to your computer.
