Configuring FileBoss
|
|
FileBoss™,has a rich
set of options controlling not only the look and
feel of it interface but also the warnings it
presents, how files are copied and much, much
more.
Below is a list of
the main group of options. Note that many of the
options
|
and settings that appear on these screens can also be set
contextually, i.e. closer to where they are used in the program:
from dialog, from the main menu and even some of the drop
down lists on command buttons.

General
Common options that are frequently changed. Many of these are also
accessible from menu items.

Startup Options
Defines what type of views are reopened when FileBoss start, how
Drop Zones are handled, and what features should be started as soon
as FileBoss starts.

Comparing Folders
Sets up time
resolutions and Time Zone offsets for comparing files and
folders.

Explore View
Specifies where
folder entries will be displayed in the contents window
(top, bottom or not at all), where bookmarks should be
displayed, the format of window titles and allows setting
file filters.

Copy Files
Various options
for copying files including what to record in the results
log, warning levels an default options for the Copy Dialog
itself.

Copy Filenames
Defines what will
be placed before and after filenames that are copied to the
clipboard. A number of formatting options are available to
format the data on the clipboard.

Windows - General
Options that
apply to all the different views of your file system that
FileBoss provides including Sticky Selection modes and how
bubble tips are displayed as the cursor is passed across
entries in the List Window.

Windows - Specific
Set object colors
for windows used by the various views (Explore, File Set,
Compare and Drop Zone).
In addition you can specify what type of file icons should
be displayed along side each entry.

Date Formats
Offers complete
control over how dates and times are displayed. No matter
where you are from in the world you should be able to set a
format that is familiar to you.
