Message Text

The target file already exists and can not form new name:

               x:\filename.txt

Click Help for more information and solutions.

     Press:

Overwrite to overwrite existing file or

               Skip       to skip this file

Cancel All to skip all remaining files.

When the message is displayed

This message is displayed when a file is being copied or duplicated, the target file already exists and FileBoss can not create a new name for the file from the supplied pattern.

Normally this happens when files are being duplicated or the Rename option is turned for a copy operation and no sequential numbering has not been indicated (i.e. there is no '?' in the rename pattern).

Action taken

You can tell FileBoss to overwrite the old file, skip this file or skip all remaining files.

If this situation is unexpected check the copy or duplicate dialog and make sure the rename format contains a '?' so that renaming can use sequential numbers to create a unique filename.
